5 Agenda Items for the 2013 IASA Annual Conference
With IASA’s 85th Annual Educational Conference and Business Show kicking off in National Harbor, Md., on Sunday, attendees will be looking to achieve some actual business benefits along with the networking and socializing. Strategies to optimize core systems, the impact of the cloud, what’s next for social media in insurance and how to seize these megatrends for competitive advantage are among the hot topics on this year’s agenda. Here are the conference priorities of five participants.
Gauge Portal Tech’s Impact on Engagement
I will be interested in speaking with insurers and vendors on how portal technology is helping to address customer engagement. I want to understand their initiatives in improving the experience of both the agent and policyholder using portals. Competition for business is only increasing and the slow growth of the economy makes this environment a tough one in the medium term. How portals can attract business and reduce expenses is a research area that I am currently pursuing. IASA will be a useful forum for gathering current solutions and for identifying what gaps still need to be filled.
