A Good EXAMPLE

To manage and process policies for a Web-based quoting and submission system, Temple-based Farmers Mutual Protective Association of Texas (also known as RVOS; $9 billion in assets) has deployed Duck Creek's (Bolivar, Mo.) EXAMPLE Platform.

To manage and process policies for a Web-based quoting and submission system, Temple-based Farmers Mutual Protective Association of Texas (also known as RVOS; $9 billion in assets) has deployed Duck Creek's (Bolivar, Mo.) EXAMPLE Platform. The solution includes Insurance Information Exchange's (iiX, College Station, Texas) A-PLUS Claims History Reports for data underwriting in real time to streamline quote generation.

Greg Burnett, systems analyst and project manager for RVOS, explains that the carrier implemented EXAMPLE in January 2005 to support a fully automated underwriting process. "We had been using iiX's ExpressNet online solution to retrieve the A-PLUS reports, but it was a manual system," says Burnett. "We wanted a fully automated underwriting process that incorporated a Web presence. ... Our agents were having to use third-party software or pick up the phone and call one of the underwriters to get a quote."

The insurer went live with EXAMPLE in 10 Texas agencies in September 2005. Given its success, the product will be rolled out to more RVOS agencies throughout the year, according to Burnett. "The agents have really taken to it," he says. "And our business has increased because of it."
