To expand its presence in the insurance industry, Fiserv (Brookfield, Wis.) acquired Xcipio (East Windsor, Conn.), a Web-based solutions provider that offers comparative insurance rates directly from carriers to producers in real time.

The Hartford, ChoicePoint Team

The Hartford Financial Services Group (Hartford) and ChoicePoint (Alpharetta, Ga.) teamed to fund Xdimensional Technologies' (Brea, Calif.) Nexsure agency management Internet service, which provides core sales and policy services to independent agents and brokers.

Symantec Acquires BindView

Symantec (Cupertino, Calif.) acquired BindView Development (Houston) to provide an end-to-end solution for policy compliance and vulnerability management, offering insurers a choice between an agent-based or agentless technology architecture.

MostChoice.com, AgentSecure Deal

AgentSecure (Fort Worth, Texas) partnered with MostChoice.com (Atlanta) to sell commercial insurance leads to AgentSecure producers. The companies will create an automated quoting process by combining MostChoice leads with real-time quotes from AgentSecure.

Syntellect/Apropos

Syntellect (Phoenix), a wholly owned subsidiary of Enghouse Systems (Toronto), acquired Apropos (Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) to provide financial services firms with a suite of contact center solutions.
