Allianz Life Appoints Director of Interactive Strategy

The new leader will manage digital strategy and work to improve the customer experience across channels.

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America has hired Jamie Plesser as director of Interactive Strategy and Execution within its Marketing division.

In his new role, Plesser is responsible for the insurer’s digital strategy, which encompasses email and social channels, social and emerging media, and website experience. He also collaborates with company stakeholders to improve Allianz Life’s digital capabilities and online offerings.

Plesser joins Allianz Life from Best Buy, where he held various marketing roles during his nine-year term. He most recently served as digital marketing director, a role that required him to define and implement the brand’s social and mobile marketing initiatives. Plesser also led the Best Buy Social Media Council, a cross-functional team that managed social media activity throughout the company.

“Delivering great digital experiences for our customers and financial professionals is a priority at Allianz Life,” said Chris Du Bois, the insurer’s VP of Interactive Strategy and Development, in a statement. “With the wealth of marketing experience that Jamie brings, we are well-positioned to continue to expand our interactive capabilities and drive results for our customers while offering them value and flexibility.”
