CareFirst BCBS Chooses Benefitfocus

Owings Mills, Md.-based CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield has selected Benefitfocus (Charleston, S.C.) eEnrollment software technology to automate its mid-market and small group member enrollment process. The software will also electronically capture data from CareFirst's ancillary carriers that offer life, disability, COBRA, payroll and dental products.

The eEnrollment technology is designed to streamline the online enrollment process by automating eligibility forms and ensuring that appropriate changes for new hires, terminations, life events and COBRA occur seamlessly. Customized business rules can also be set.
