In order to provide independent agents and brokers with carrier- and vendor-system-specific information that will help them leverage the latest real-time interface, download and other time-saving technologies, the Agents Council for Technology (ACT; Alexandria, Va.) has enhanced its Web site, ACTtech. The site has been developed as an industry resource to accelerate the adoption of improved workflows within the independent agency distribution system.

"The mission of the site is to be a single place for agents and brokers to go to find out what carriers and vendors have available as far as interface capabilities," says Jeff Yates, executive director, ACT. "What's unique about the site, and what has been further enhanced with the update, is that it provides specific information related to specific systems and companies."

ACTtech (www.acttech.org) helps users determine the best interface solutions for them by providing specific line of business, transaction type and state information. A major enhancement to the site is the ability to create and print comparison reports for selected carriers, vendors and transactions. Users can search under four major categories: Carrier Possibilities, Vendor Possibilities, My Possibilities and Process Possibilities. The site also features a rotating display of the latest carrier and vendor additions to the database.

"It's important for more and more companies to enter their information," says Yates. "The entire industry benefits with more people having real-time interfaces and effective download systems," he adds. There is no charge to use the site or list company information.
