Rob Klapper Succeeds Dave Roush as Insurance.com CEO
Leading online independent agency Insurance.com has named Robert Klapper as its new chief executive officer. Klapper succeeds Dave Roush, who will remain chairman of the board and serve as strategic advisor to the company during Klapper's transition, accoridng to an Insurance.com source.
"With his extensive marketing, planning, and insurance experience, Rob is the right leader to help drive our growth strategy and propel Insurance.com to the next level," says former CEO and founder Roush. "We're excited to leverage our success as we continue to evolve into the destination site for rates and information on all types of insurance."
Klapper was most recently CEO at One Day University, a lifelong learning firm, where he expanded the company's geographic footprint and built out its infrastructure to support growth, according to Insurance.com. Prior to One Day University, Rob was CMO at Prosper Marketplace, the leading online peer-to-peer lender and one of Time Magazine's Top 50 sites of 2007. As CMO of 21st Century, he helped drive the growth of this $1.3 billion auto insurance firm by overhauling its marketing strategy, capabilities and organization.
Klapper spent 14 years at Charles Schwab, where he was recognized as one of the best business builders and team leaders at the firm. He held general manager and senior vice president positions in Schwab's independent investor, advisor network, and insurance & annuity businesses. Prior to Schwab, Kapper held several product management positions at Colgate Palmolive. He's a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and holds an MBA degree from the University of Virginia.
