ACORD's (Pearl River, N.Y.) Board of Directors has elected Lloyd Chumbley and Roy Laker to serve as ACORD's newest vice presidents. Chumbley has been elected vice president, Standards; Laker has been named vice president, London office.
"These promotions recognize all that Lloyd and Roy have brought to ACORD over the years and show the Board's confidence in their leadership for ACORD's future," said ACORD President and CEO Gregory A. Maciag. "As ACORD continues to grow and expand, their contributions and guidance will be vital."
Chumbley joined ACORD in 2001 as head of the Life & Annuity program. He then became assistant vice president of standards, spearheading initiatives that drove implementation and expanded the reach of ACORD standards. In his new role, Chumbley will oversee all standards development and implementation activities at ACORD and he will be instrumental in building strong connections between development and deployment of the standards, an ACORD source says.
Laker joined ACORD in 2005 as assistant vice president supervising ACORD's London and reinsurance/large commercial markets. Under his guidance, ACORD has become an integral part of the London and European Market initiatives, according to the standards organization. Laker will continue to coordinate and expand ACORD's activities in these markets while working with major market players to promote international adoption and implementation of ACORD standards.
