St. Petersburg, Fla.-based P&C holding company United Insurance Holdings Corp. has appointed John Langowski VP of claims.
In this newly created position, which takes effect Nov. 5, Langowski will be responsible for all aspects of United's claims function. United is the second holding company to name its first enterprise-wide claims leader this week, following Alterra's appointment of Nick Conca.
"We are excited to have a professional of John's caliber join United," United CEO John Forney says in a statement. "We remain committed to enhancing all aspects of our claims process for our customers, while also strengthening our management team. We expect that John's knowledge and experience directing the claims departments at a wide variety of company will provide immediate benefits to the company."
Langowski last was VP and chief claims officer for Cypress Insurance Group. He has also worked at Farmers and Nationwide.
