CNA Moves Development to Managed Services Model With Help from iRise Enterprise Visualization

CIO Ray Oral calls software visualization a "proven best practice" and says iRise will support more efficient communication and collaboration with outsourcing partners.

CNA (Chicago) has adopted iRise (El Segundo, Calif.) visualization software as a key part of the carrier's initiative to transform its major software development projects to a managed services model, according to a vendor statement.

iRise visualization provides companies with the means to define and specify business critical software with outsourcing partners according to the vendor. Through the use of iRise visualization, companies such as CNA expect to accelerate delivery, reduce risk around change orders and improve overall quality and customer experience, the iRise statement claims.

"Our decision to transition to a managed services model was a major shift for CNA," comments Ray Oral, chief information officer, CNA. To ensure a successful transition, we needed to approach software definition from a new perspective. Software visualization has become a proven best practice for finally solving years of endemic communication problems between business, IT and global sourcing providers. Using iRise, we expect to develop more efficient communication and collaboration with our outsourcing partners."
