CNA Specialty Appoints SVP and Chief Underwriting Officer

Christopher Leisz will oversee Specialty products within Financial Institutions, Professional Services, Healthcare and Management Liability.

CNA Financial Corporation has announced the appointment of Christopher Leisz as SVP and chief underwriting officer for its Specialty division. Leisz will assume the responsibility for Specialty products within Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Professional Services and Management Liability.

Liesz joins CNA after thirteen years in the insurance industry. He most recently served as the Midwest regional executive for Hiscox USA, where he managed production growth, distribution strategy, marketing and account management. Liesz also held roles within American International Group, Inc., including time as a coverage attorney.

“Chris’s broad experience in product development, underwriting, sales, marketing, distribution management, litigation and field leadership makes him well suited for his new position,” says Mark Herman, president and COO at CNA Specialty. “I am confident he will help shape and execute strategy for profitable growth across our Specialty portfolio.”

CNA is doing a lot of interesting things in terms of positioning for the future. I wonder if we'll see that pay off with an aggressive growth plan or something along those lines.
