CSC’s Java-based POINT IN J

Long thought of as the 800 lb. gorilla in property and casualty insurance systems, CSC has demonstrated that it is a fast moving and agile 800 lb. gorilla. POINT IN J, introduced during Connect 2008, is CSC’s Java-based end-to-end policy administration system that runs on Sun Microsystem’s Solaris operating system and Sun hardware. POINT IN J takes advantage of technologies not typically seen in the insurance industry and will appeal to both legacy insurers and new entrants with its platform neutrality, flexibility and efficiency. With this offering, CSC will attract new markets to its technology platform. As the first major legacy provider to offer a completely retooled policy administration system, CSC has changed the solutions landscape: POINT IN J signifies a move away from the legacy model, a move that other providers will surely follow.
