CCH AND DOCUMENT SCIENCES PARTNER ON E-FORMS

As part of a deal that it claims will lower production costs, speed project completion time and reduce customer exposure from use of outdated or non-compliant forms, CCH Insurance Services will partner with Document Sciences Corp.

As part of a deal that it claims will lower production costs, speed project completion time and reduce customer exposure from use of outdated or non-compliant forms, CCH Insurance Services (Riverwoods, IL), a provider of regulatory forms and legal databases for the insurance industry, will partner with Document Sciences Corp. (Carlsbad, CA).

Under the agreement's terms, CCH Insurance Services will provide an electronic forms library service that is compatible with Document Sciences' xPression, a content processing suite for the enterprise. According to Document Sciences' Scott Samuels, director of corporate marketing, the integrated solution will be marketed to existing Document Sciences and CCH Insurance Services' customers, as well other P&C carriers.

CCH Insurance Services' electronic forms library "contains regulatory forms," explains Daniel Grey, national product manager, CCH Insurance Services. "CCH's forms solution consists of content that is both property of CCH's, or licensed to CCH by other organizations such as ISO (Insurance Services Office) and the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI)."

The reason the combined solution is beneficial to insurers, explains Samuels, is because when carriers buy xPression for P&C they get an out-of-the-box, fully configured solution that includes ISO and NCCI forms. "The forms will be pre-populated with information so that they will be updated in a more automated fashion."
