WellPoint Creates Chief Transformation Officer Role
Reflecting the investments insurance companies are making in elevating the customer experience, Indianapolis-based health insurer WellPoint has hired V. Rajamannar (Raja) Madabhushi to be the company's Executive Vice President of its Senior business and Chief Transformation Officer -- a new position. In this new role, Madabhushi will be responsible for WellPoint's Senior and International businesses, Marketing and Product Innovation, and the company's HealthyCare Solutions and Corporate Development functions. He will report directly to chair, president and CEO Angela F. Braly.
Prior to joining WellPoint, Madabhushi served as SVP and chief innovation and marketing officer at Humana, responsible for leading its innovation center as well as marketing, data analytics and Humana's international business. He also spent 15 years in senior-level business management and marketing roles at Citigroup, including chief marketing officer of Citi's Global Cards and Payments division, and executive vice president of Citi Cards North America.
"We are very pleased to add such a talented and knowledgeable executive to our leadership team," said Braly in a press release. "Raja's extensive experience in global business management, marketing, product development and consumer engagement will be a great asset to our company, especially at a time when consumers are taking a more active role in the selection and management of their health care options."
With Madabhushi's appointment, WellPoint's Executive Leadership Team is now fully staffed and prepared to lead the company forward amid the rapidly changing healthcare environment, according to the company's statement. He will start in his new assignment later this month.
