UnumProvident (Portland, ME) subsidiary BenefitAmerica is introducing its "next-generation" product delivery platform, BenefitAmerica Spectrum, designed to help insurers Web-enable their products and services for enroller-assisted or self-service communications, employee decision support and enrollment. A version of the Spectrum product will be rolled out at Colonial Supplemental Insurance, the marketing brand of UnumProvident subsidiary Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co. (Columbia, SC).
New York-based Bisys Group is offering branded insurance distribution Web sites that reportedly are customized with the look and feel of the client. The sites support producers with capabilities such as 24x7 case management, compliant carrier illustration software and browser-enabled access to product illustrations; term quote comparisons; sales support and marketing information; and impaired risk underwriting reference materials and a preliminary inquiry tool designed to expedite the sales process, according to Bisys.
Medical Mutual of Ohio (Cleveland) claims that more than 20,000 members have registered to manage their health insurance accounts online through My Health Plan, the carrier's Web-based customer service tool, developed by Antares Management Solutions, Medical Mutual's wholly owned information systems subsidiary.
