Brit Insurance (London) has signed an enterprise license agreement for
edge IPK's edgeConnect open presentation platform as a key element of the London-based general insurance and reinsurance carrier's Britboard Service offering, according to an edge IPK release. Brit Insurance, which specializes in commercial insurance, will deploy edgeConnect to enable new and enhanced services and products for distribution to all brokers, policyholders and internal users who access Britbord. The vendor describes its offering as a secure, browser-based, internationalized presentation layer to provide all distribution channels an ideal user experience.
edgeConnect will provide the key integration with what edge IPK calls a user-friendly Web interface to Brit Insurance's existing back office systems, delivering intuitive, easy-to-use, anywhere access to all internal and external users of Britbord, the vendor source reports.
"We chose edgeConnect to enable us to provide a cost-effective, flexible and competitive offering as we develop the next generation of Britbord, our Web-based system for selected brokers," comments Simon Cooter, U.K. distribution director, Brit Insurance. "Britbord's fully-customizable offering, which has seen a significant increase in broker usage, is a key part of our e-trading proposition, particularly in the micro SME area."
