John Anthony

Anthony is responsible for leading the identification, evaluation, and infusion of emerging technologies that provide unique competitive advantage opportunities to The Hartford within the P&C marketplace. In addition, John is responsible for defining and enabling a vision on innovation throughout the P&C IT organization.
Prior to joining The Hartford, Anthony worked for Pfizer Inc. where he helped Clinical Regulatory Operations lead the pharmaceutical industry in the development of an electronic New Drug Application submission strategy.
Anthony holds a Masters of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Hartford.

Kathy Burger
Editorial Director, Insurance & Technology

Katherine Burger is Editorial Director of Insurance & Technology and Bank Systems & Technology, members of the Business Technology Group of CMP Technology. She assumed leadership of Insurance & Technology in 1991 and of Bank Systems & Technology in 2003.
In addition to directing the editorial strategy of both brands, Kathy is charged with the creation and development of new products, editorial supplements, special publications and live and online events including I&T's Executive Summit, BS&T's Executive Summit, Webcasts, live custom events and Peer Group roundtables.
Kathy is a frequent speaker/moderator at financial services industry conferences, and also has presented at a number of technology company user group and sales force events, as well as numerous Webcasts sponsored by industry leaders. During her 26-year media career, in addition to financial services technology, Kathy also has covered the real estate and retailing industries. She is a graduate of Carleton College.

Fred Danback

Fred Danback is an established IT leader with more than 23 years experience in the global financial services industry including banking, insurance, reinsurance and capital markets. In his role at Integro Insurance Brokers, Fred is responsible for the Global Technology Services organization. Prior to joining Integro, Fred was responsible for the strategy, development and commissioning of technology for XL Capital, a global financial services company with offices spanning 30 countries and 100 locations worldwide. Fred's areas of expertise are in technology strategy, infrastructure development and global deployment in culturally and organizationally diverse environments.
Fred has been an industry thought leader on various technology architecture topics including a well publicized global deployment of Secure Identity Management. Throughout his career Fred lead the development of many technology services including; global networks, global messaging architectures, directory services infrastructure, telephony systems, data centers and trading floors. With a bachelors degree, magna cum laude, in International Management, Fred has remained committed to working in the global community. Fred has been quoted in LAN Times, Information Week, Internet Week, Computerworld and Windows in Financial Services magazine. Recently he has also spoken on various IT related topics including Secure Identity Management, Emerging Technologies, Marketing IT Agility, Leadership and the Global IT Agenda and Attracting and Retaining Exceptional IT Talent.” Currently, Fred serves as an Advisory Board member of the annual CIO Forum. Fred was recently honored by Computerworld Magazine as a 2006 Premier 100 IT leader.

Tom Gosnell
Chief Information Officer

Tom Gosnell is the Chief Information Officer for CUNA Mutual Group. Tom is responsible for making sure that the CUNA Mutual technology organization forms partnerships with internal and external customers to deliver business and technology solutions.
Before joining CUNA Mutual, Tom was employed with Accenture for 11 years, where he achieved partner status. His primary customer groups have been insurance and banking. He also held positions of increasing responsibility at JWP, Inc. and Ernst & Young.
During his career, Tom has demonstrated leadership in business and technology strategy development and implementation, systems design and deployment, large program management, and IT transformation and sourcing strategies.
Tom has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University's Engineering School. He also has an MBA with an emphasis in International Business and Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, where he attended the Executive MBA Program at the Katz Graduate School of Business.
Tom and his wife, Lauri, have two daughters.

John Kellington

John Kellington is Senior Vice President, and Chief Technology Officer for the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company, a $1.7B property and casualty company headquartered in Fairfield Ohio. John is a member of Ohio Casualty’s executive management team and responsible for all corporate technology initiatives. Prior to becoming CTO at Ohio Casualty, John was Architect and Principal for IBM Global Services’ National Insurance Practice. John held many positions during his 18-year career at IBM, including Senior Architect, Client Server Architect, Systems Engineer, and Industrial Engineer. As a consultant with IBM, John led many high profile legacy migration projects for large insurance corporations within the industry. John's expertise stems around component-based architectures, high-volume transactional web environments, policy administration systems, legacy migration strategies, and organizational concepts to achieve success in the new age environment. John also serves on the ACORD Board of Directors and is Chairman of ACORD’s Global Standards Committee.

David Kirshenbaum
Vice President – Enterprise Information Management, WellPoint, Inc.

David Kirshenbaum has been in the healthcare information technology field for over 25 years. He is currently the Vice President of Enterprise Information Management for WellPoint Inc., the largest health plan in the Untied States, with over 34 million members. At WellPoint he is responsible for Data Warehousing, Information Delivery and Business Intelligence. Before joining WellPoint, David operated his own healthcare consulting firm, West End Associates. He was also the head of business development for Medscape/Medicalogic. Prior to that he held a variety of positions at Aetna including President of USQA, a health information company and Intelihealth, a health content internet company. David has also held various management positions at CIGNA, Equicor and Equitable Group & Health.

 Sullivan McConnell
Vice President, St Paul Travelers

Sullivan ("Sully") McConnell is Vice President of Management Information in the Personal Lines Division of St. Paul Travelers, where he leads the Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence strategies for the company. Mr. McConnell brings over twelve years experience directing IT organizations and talented consulting teams in delivering successful, complex implementations in the Customer Relationship Management, Marketing Automation, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence fields. His implementations have received recognition in Computerworld, Beyond Computing magazine, and SkyTV, in addition to receiving Best-In-Class Solution awards from organizations such as Data Management Review, Open Systems Advisory, and Business Intelligence Magazine. He has technical strength in parallel databases and hardware systems, and was an original member of IBM's SP2 Customer Advisory Council and their Business Intelligence Customer Council, helping provide direction to the SP2 and DB2 product lines.

 Anthony O'Donnell

Anthony O'Donnell has covered technology in the insurance industry since 2000, when he joined the editorial staff of Insurance & Technology. As an editor and reporter for I&T and the InformationWeek Media Network, he has written on all areas of information technology in the property/casualty, life and health insurance industries, following the trends and issues faced by senior technology executives. In addition to reporting and editorial duties for I&T, O'Donnell also serves as a moderator and speaker at industry events and broadcasts. He began his editorial career in the healthcare industry where he reported and edited for medical publications with a variety of audiences, from the general public to physicians and researchers. He has also worked in the healthcare field as a media relations professional and Spanish/English interpreter/translator, and has taught English composition and conversation classes to native speakers of Spanish, both in the United States and in Latin America. O'Donnell lives in the Portland, Oregon area with his wife and son.

Rick Roy
SVP of Customer Operations, CUNA Mutual

Rick Roy is CUNA Mutual Group's Senior Vice President of Customer Operations, which includes all Call Center, Claims, Product Administration and Site Management operations for several offices.
Prior to joining CUNA Mutual Group in 2003, Rick was Senior Vice President and General Manager of product development at Metavante Corporation, a wholly-owned technology subsidiary of the Marshall & Ilsley Corporation. He was responsible for product development and technology architecture for Metavante's software product portfolio. As a member of Metavante's executive team, Rick also participated extensively in merger and acquisition activities and directed software development functions across six cities in the United States and Canada.
Risk's previous roles at Metavante included Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) business line. He developed the CRM line of business from start-up to a profitable large business line over a six-year period.
Rick holds a Master's Degree in business from Marquette University and a Bachelor's Degree in management information systems from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Rick has pursued additional graduate level work at Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Maria Woehr

Maria Woehr is Associate Editor of Insurance & Technology, a member of the Business Technology Group of CMP Technology. She joined Insurance & Technology in 2005.
Maria writes content for Insurance & Technology’s magazine and newsletter; hosts podcasts; and moderates webcasts, sponsored by industry leaders.
Before joining Insurance & Technology, Maria was a general assignment reporter for ABC and FOX affiliates in Billings, Montana where she covered crime, court and community beats. Maria has also has worked as a writer for the NBC affiliate in Boston. She holds a Master of Arts and Letters from Drew University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Boston University.
