Zurich North America (Schaumburg, Ill.) named Dan Loris director of the property line of business for Zurich Technical Center. Loris formerly was the assistant vice president of underwriting strategy at Allianz Global Risks (London).

Schacht Joins Navigant

James W. Schacht joined Navigant Consulting (Chicago) as a managing director in the financial services practice. Schacht previously was director of insurance and special deputy receiver for the State of Illinois.

WellPoint Promotes Boxer

WellPoint (Indianapolis) promoted Mark Boxer to EVP, technology and operations, and CIO. Boxer also will retain responsibilities for e-business and enterprise operations. He replaces Ron Ponder, who will leave the company at the end of the year.

Jeremy Jeffrey joined Aflac (Columbus, Ga.) as senior vice president and deputy chief investment officer of the investment department, leaving Morgan Stanley after 23 years.
