Former Hartford CEO Ayer Joins XL Board

Hamilton, Bermuda-based XL Group has named Ramani Ayer to the company's board of directors.

Ayer last served as the chairman and CEO of The Hartford, retiring from that position in August 2009. Liam McGee replaced him in September that year.

"We welcome Ramani to the XL board," XL chairman Robert Glauber says in a statement. His vast knowledge and industry experience complement the existing expertise of the board and will benefit the company as XL continues to build on its solid foundation, global platform, and depth of underwriting talent."
