Simon Curtis has also been a partner at Deloitte.

Munich Re has added Simon Curtis as CFO for its North American Life business effective September 3. He replaces Doug Tozer, who is retiring.

In his new role, Curtis is responsible for providing oversight, best practices and harmonization of financial practices for North America, as well as all financial aspects of Munich Re Canada (Life), the company says.

"Mr. Curtis is a well-known and respected leader within the actuarial community and greater financial services sector," said Mary Forrest, Head of North American Life for Munich Re, in a statement. "We welcome the expertise and deep industry knowledge that he will bring to our organization and the resulting benefit this will create for our clients."

Curtis last was a partner for Deloitte. He also has worked for Manulife. He will be based in Toronto.
