Rick Gilman, the longtime vice president of corporate communications at ACORD, has left the Pearl River, N.Y.-based industry standards group after his position was eliminated last week, an ACORD source confirmed on Monday.
Prior to joining ACORD in August 1996, Gilman worked as the director of subscriber services for the Insurance Information Institute (iii). While at ACORD, Gilman was responsible for the organization's public presence and worked to grow its conferences, including the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum. He also spearheaded the creation of ACORD Video, the organization's video messaging effort.
"I regret to say that Rick Gilman, Vice President of Communications has left ACORD as a result of his position being eliminated," Tanya Krochta, assistant vice president, human resources, ACORD, told I&T in a statement. "He has had a distinguished tenure at ACORD and inspired numerous advances in corporate communications. We look forward to working with Rick in the years ahead."
