IBM�s Global Solutions Center is a group of 75 professionals who work with IBM�s reference teams and clients to build solutions that can be used by other clients either as a showcase implementation or as a way to jumpstart their own technology and business process initiatives. A recent property & casualty implementation involves using SOA along with existing products from IBM and its partners to provide an end-to-end core application with functionality such as underwriting, quotes, and claims. The application will enable P&C insurers to reduce time to market for new products, meet changing regulatory requirements, and adapt to industry changes more quickly. Catherine McCauley, Global Solutions Centers, stresses that these implementations are more long-term in nature yet deliver cost-savings. They also leverage existing applications that already provide value to the insurer.
