Guardian Finalizes Premier Access Acquisition

Guardian Life Insurance Company of America has completed its acquisition of Premier Access Insurance Company, a San Francisco-based dental provider with more than 5,000 employers and 630,000 members.

The Premier Access acquisition is intended to strengthen Guardian’s Dental PPO and Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DMHO) networks across multiple states. It will also broaden the insurer’s reach into state-run Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) markets, both of which are anticipated to grow due to increased eligibility from the ACA. Guardian will also appear on six individual state exchanges.
