Guardian Life Insurance Names New CIO

Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (New York) a mutual life insurance provider, has named Dean Del Vecchio, SVP and CIO reporting to COO Scott Dolfi. The company has also appointed Caitlin Pincus as SVP of Strategy and Guardian Labs reporting to president and CEO Deanna Mulligan.

“The appointment of both Caitlin and Dean reflects Guardian’s commitment to thinking differently about how we leverage technology to evolve as a company and ultimately better service our customers,” says Mulligan.

Del Vecchio’s responsibilities will be delivering a technology strategy for the long-term growth and ongoing business objectives of Guardian through management of technology, risk management and IT security departments. He last served as SVP, CIO and Global Head of IT Shared Services at News Corp.; he's also been CIO and chief administrative officer for Dow Jones and worked at Cigna and Citibank.

Pincus will, through Guardian Labs, be responsible for identifying emerging trends and capitalizing on them by accelerating the introduction and diversification of Guardian’s products, services and go-to-market strategies in the controlled environment. She last was CFO at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
