GuideOne Selects Insurity
Policy Administration
Looking to replace its aging core systems with a Web services platform, GuideOne Insurance (West Des Moines, Iowa; $941.9 million in assets) will implement Insurity's (Hartford) Policy Decisions policy administration system, an end-to-end policy-life-cycle administration solution built on service-oriented architecture leveraging Microsoft (Redmond, Wash.) .NET. The insurer will use Insurity's system for underwriting, rate/quote, workflow and policy issuance for commercial and personal lines.
The solution will "take our two policy administration systems and get that down to a single source of entry," according to Mike Schneider, GuideOne's director of systems implementation. "By streamlining our systems, we will be able to leverage data integrity and manage quicker turnarounds," he says, adding that agents no longer will need to enter information manually.
The system also will enable agents to quote, issue, endorse and renew policies in real time, as well as access real-time customer data, adds Bob Crane, GuideOne SVP and CIO. The carrier expects to go live with the product by the end of 2006.
