Humana Delivers New Online Experience for Customers

Louisville, Ky.-based Humana has launched a new online experience that takes complex health care topics and puts them into easily-understood video clips.

"Stay Smart, Stay Healthy" answers frequently-asked questions and includes social media outlets, including a Facebook presence and YouTube channel.

"We're using social media to help consumers better understand health care," says Ed Batchelor, Humana's Corporate Director of Internet Strategy. "Consumers are discussing these topics across the Web. We have an opportunity to bring some of our insights into the conversation."

When consumers visit the Stay Smart, Stay Healthy Web site, they can select which video topic they wish to view. The site, www.staysmartstayhealthy.com, also provides the ability to connect across multiple social media outlets, including Twitter and MySpace.

"Social media is a space we continue to explore," says Jason Loehr, a Marketing New Media Manager for Humana. "We know the potential it offers for us to connect with consumers, as well as the other audiences we interact with."

The video inventory for the Humana site will continue to grow as new topics are explored. Consumers will continue to be a big part of the site's growth, as Humana intends to make the Web site experience consumer-driven.
