Insurance IT Salary Survey: Job Outlook Improving

Even as the economy has stumbled, insurers' confidence in growth opportunities has led to shifting staffing needs and slightly higher salaries for insurance IT staff as carriers resume large-scale projects aimed at increasing efficiency and improving the customer experience, according to the 2012 InformationWeek U.S. IT Salary Survey. 8. Following an IT Career Path: Staff

More than a third (37%) of staff say a career path in IT and the potential for salary advancement are as promising as they were five years ago, up considerably from 2010, when only about one-fourth (27%) felt this way. But more than half of IT staff (53%) say their chosen career paths and the potential for salary advancement are not as promising.
