Kevin Hogan Rejoins AIG as Global Consumer CEO
AIG announced today that Kevin Hogan has been named CEO of AIG Global Consumer Insurance, effective early October.
Hogan replaces Jeffrey Hayman, who was hired by Starr International Co. to lead its Asian expansion initiatives in January. Starr is an insurance firm led by former AIG CEO Maurice "Hank" Greenberg.
Reporting to Peter Hancock, CEO of AIG Property Casualty, Hogan will lead the Global Consumer business that includes an array of P&C and accident and health insurance products. AIG also announced concurrent with Hogan's appointment that global life insurance manufacturing would be moved under that umbrella as well from AIG Life & Retirement, which is still responsible for AIG’s retirement business and distribution of all U.S. life and retirement products.
“I’m delighted to welcome Kevin Hogan back to AIG,” said Robert H. Benmosche, president and CEO of AIG, in a statement. “I am very enthusiastic about the growth potential of our market-leading global PC consumer and life businesses, and believe they will prosper under Kevin’s strong leadership. Putting the manufacturing of these critical products under the same oversight is an important step in our work to become truly one AIG. In addition, our global consumer network will benefit from the sophistication, scale, and success of our U.S. life insurance platform.”
Hogan last served as CEO of Global Life for Zurich Life, a position he held since 2010. He began his first stint at AIG in 1984 and ascended through the company until 2008, when he left his job as AIG’s Chief Distribution Officer, Foreign Life and Retirement Services to join Zurich as CEO, Global Life Americas.
“Kevin is an insurance veteran who brings tremendous experience and firsthand knowledge of the global footprint of our PC consumer and life businesses and the opportunities they represent," Hancock added in a statement. "Kevin’s leadership and background make him uniquely positioned to strategically lead and enhance this important business segment. We are glad to welcome back Kevin to AIG, where he spent most of his career.”
