Among the numerous initiatives that the 2013 Elite 8 honorees are leading, improving data management capabilities and reaping the benefits of modern core systems are among the most prominent. Insurance & Technology caught up with some of last year’s Elite 8 to learn more about their recent activities and accomplishments.

Robin Arendt: Reaping The Tech Payoff

Since in 2013, XL Group Global CIO Robin Arendt and her team have been continuing the firm’s technology implementation and business-by-business rollout across all major IT transformation programs. In the past year, one of Arendt’s team’s transformation initiatives, XL Group’s Global Underwriting Platform, received a  Novarica Impact Award for Transformation.

“The execution of our XL business and technology strategy is paying off as we have seen market improvement in our business results since 2010, including double-digit growth in gross written premium, improved profitability, regional expansions, and a climbing stock price,” Arendt explains.
