IT Family Ties: Smith's son-in-law is working on his Ph.D. in cloud computing.

Hobbies/pastimes: Smith is a fitness buff. "Certainly it's been reinforced by the attitude and the culture of being in the healthcare industry," he says. "It's kind of like eating your products: You're telling your customers to do it, so why aren't you? It's not my main motivation for doing it, but it's there."
