Wipro, an information technology consulting firm, announced the appointment of SVP Shaji Farooq as the global head of the banking, finance services and insurance (BFSI) strategic business unit, based in the New York office.
Farooq will strategize to seize opportunities for growth in the U.S. and European markets across financial services. Farooq will also report to CEO and Executive Director, T.K. Kurlen, effective Jan. 1.
Kurlen says in a statement, “Our strategy of driving a significantly higher degree of customer engagement and hyper growth has been paying dividends. In order to sustain this momentum, out leadership team has spent considerable time reviewing market opportunities, and sharply defining the focus areas that would fuel our growth ambition.”
Wipro has also announced the appointments of SVP Soumitro Ghosh as head of infotech in India and Middle East, G.K. Prasanna as SVP and global head for global infrastructure services and Jeffery Heenan Jalil as VP and global head of advanced technologies. The company is headquartered in Bangalore, India with global offices.
