MAPFRE Brings Telematics Insurance to Oregon
MAPFRE U.S.A., the Webster, Mass.-based subsidiary of the Spanish insurance carrier MAPFRE Group, has announced the availability of its DriveAdvisor telematics product in Oregon. DriveAdvisor was introduced in Rhode Island last year.
The DriveAdvisor telematics device transmits acceleration, braking, vehicle speed, and miles driven information to the carrier, which determines eligibility for a discount. Enrolled policyholders also get online feedback about their driving behavior with a personalized report that shows performance and progress over time and offers safe driving tips.
"MAPFRE Insurance is pleased to offer telematics technology to our customers," said Jaime Tamayo, President and CEO of MAPFRE Insurance, in a statement. "Our goal is to improve driver behavior and roadway safety by providing our customers with meaningful driving performance feedback through the DriveAdvisor Program."
