New York Life International Appoints New CIO
New York Life International (NYLI), the international arm of the New York Life Insurance Company, announced on Monday that it has appointed Thomas Burke as senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO).
As CIO of the New York-based company, Burke is responsible for the development and implementation of NYLI's information technology across all markets, which include Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, South Korea, India, Argentina, Mexico and Thailand. According to a press release, Burke will report to Russell Bundschuh, executive vice president and chief operating officer, NYLI.
Before joining NYLI, Burke worked as head of operations and technology at Citi Global Consumer Investments. In that role, he coordinated and implemented operational and technology solutions across 46 countries. Burke also served as the company's head of offshore business development, where he established an operational framework for conducting business across all regional offshore businesses within the international retail bank.
Burke, who holds a B.A. in computer science from Fordham University and an M.B.A. from St. John's University, has also held head of investment and insurance technology and vice president of operations and technology titles at Citigroup. He will be based in NYLI's New York headquarters.
