NY Life Receives Information Management Award
New York Life Insurance Company (New York) announced on Monday that it has received ARMA International's Cobalt Award, a newly created honor that is presented annually to the company that best exemplifies organization-wide best practices in managing records and information.
New York Life was honored for a shift within the carrier to become more focused on records from an organizational and foundational standpoint. Eileen Slevin, New York Life SVP and CIO, says the carrier has formed an Enterprise Records Management program. "Our vision and approach has involved input from every aspect of the company," Slevin said in a press release.
An ARMA International judging panel of cross-functional information management experts selected the carrier for the award, identifying solid executive-level support and buy-in, a commitment to ongoing training and outstanding information security best practices and technological considerations as key factors in the decision.
ARMA International is a not-for-profit association for the records and information management profession. The organization was formed in 1955 and also publishes the Information Management Journal.
