1st Guard Adds DocuSign Electric Signature Capabilities
1st Guard, a Venice, Fla.-based truck insurance firm providing physical damage and non-trucking liability insurance to leased owner operators, has integrated an electronic signature management service to complete and sign insurance applications online from Seattle-based DocuSign.
“Our clients are truckers, essentially on the road 24x7 so we needed a flexible, mobile solution to meet their unique needs,” said Dan Ribar, chief information officer at 1st Guard. “With DocuSign, we get it all—ease of use, digital forms, legal compliance and complete mobility. Being able to complete election forms electronically is a huge benefit for our customers.”
1st Guard customers also can sign electronically with smartphones including the iPhone and BlackBerry. The company already allows mobile claims submission.
DocuSign, whose other clients include Amica, BannerLife and First Premium, entered a strategic partnership with iPipeline in April, through which its technology was integrated into iPipeLine's e-Policy platform. The beta version of the combined offering launched July 1.
Farmers Insurance and a number of Farm Bureau Insurance companies have also added electronic signature capabilities this year.
