New Mexico Mutual (Albuquerque) has successfully deployed Guidewire's (San Mateo, Calif.) BillingCenterin order to address the customer service and operations limitations of the workers' compensation carrier's legacy billing system, according to a joint press release by the vendor and insurer. The carrier earlier implemented the vendor's ClaimCenter solution.

BillingCenter provides New Mexico Mutual with real-time billing and payment data at the individual policy level in addition to the account level, making it easy for the carrier's billing representatives to get accurate and fast details in order to better serve their customers, according to the Guidewire/New Mexico Mutual release.

"Guidewire BillingCenter has all of the features we were looking for in a billing system and more," says Lynn Krueger, billing and collection manager, New Mexico Mutual. "We live in the system and are enjoying the enhancements it brings to our daily lives and the service level improvements we are able to share with our agents and policyholders."

Among the functional capabilities BillingCenter affords New Mexico Mutual are the ability to automate the billing lifecycle while incorporating best practices; to readily implement system changes in-house without vendor involvement; to access payment information in real time; to better manage agent commissions; and to proactively manage the carrier's collection agency interaction.
