Gordon Gaudet, who has been named EVP, Chief Information Officer, at Selective Insurance Group, Inc., (Branchville, N.J.), brings a career of involvement in the insurance technology world to his new role at the property/casualty holding company. In fact, this assignment will be a return engagement for Gaudet, who has consulted with Selective on several projects and served as the company's interim CIO in 2000.
Gaudet, who will assume responsibility for all information technology operations at Selective, has spent the past nine years as a director and co-lead of Deloitte Consulting's Insurance Core System Transformation practice in Chicago and served on the Systems Integration advisory boards for Program/Project Management and Delivery Methods and Tools. As part of the Deloitte team, he assisted Selective with the successful integration of its excess and surplus lines, notes Gregory E. Murphy, president and CEO, Selective Insurance Group.

"We are very excited to have Gordon on the executive leadership team at Selective," said Murphy, in a press release. "He brings extensive information technology experience in the insurance industry to Selective, which will further our mission to be the leading 'high-tech, high-touch' provider of property-and-casualty insurance."
For the past 35 years, Gaudet has gained significant understanding and appreciation for the challenges and complexity of insurance information technology organizations, according to Selective. He is experienced in management and technical consulting, large-scale program design and delivery, software vendor selection, software development, and systems integration for custom and package solutions that support technology-enabled business transformation. During his career, Gaudet has been responsible for technology strategy and assessment, as well as full life-cycle execution in many insurance sub-sectors, including P&C insurance.
Prior to his tenure at Deloitte, Gaudet was partner and CIO at The Actuarials Exchange, LLC, responsible for all company technology. He spent six years serving at C-Change, Inc., as its Solution Delivery and Technology leader/partner and was responsible for the company's technology strategy, policy and investment decisions.
Gaudet is filling an open position. The previous CIO at Selective was Ronald St. Clair, who joined the company in 2011.
