The Philadelphia Contributorship Chooses ISCS SurePower Innovation Suite

The Ben Franklin-founded company set out to find a core systems solution that could meet expectations of producers and insureds for service and information access, while providing internal process efficiencies and continual upgrades as technology advances.

The Philadelphia Contributorship (Philadelphia), founded by Benjamin Franklin in 1752, has selected ISCS's SurePower Innovation Policy Administration Suite, following what a vendor statement characterizes as a thorough selection process utilizing a nationally known consulting firm. The P&C insurance group will use ISCS's core system suite to modernize its policy administration, claims and billing processes, as well as provide data marts, agent and consumer self-service portals and other business capabilities.

The Philadelphia Contributionship, a group of regional carriers focusing on personal property and related liability coverages in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, saw the need to embark on a technology modernization initiative in order to enhance the ease of doing business with agents and policyholders, improve productivity, and enable strategic growth through diversification, according to the vendor statement. The company set out to find a core systems solution that could meet expectations of producers and insureds for service and information access, while providing internal process efficiencies and continual upgrades as technology advances.

Originally seeking a best-of-breed solution, The Philadelphia Contributionship modified its view during the selection process, concluding that the maturity of core system suite offerings was a better option to achieve the best functionality with a coordinated service approach to agents and policyholders, according to Robert G. Whitlock, president and CEO.

"We also wanted to gain confidence in the vendor's implementation approach," Whitlock comments. "ISCS has a proven track record of successful implementations and uses an impressive methodology for getting their clients live on systems. We appreciated how ISCS set realistic expectations that substantial efforts by both us and ISCS would be needed, no matter how great the technology."
