Humedica would give Optum, United's health services arm, new power in the growing health data mining market.

Humedica, a leading data analytics firm, has been acquired by UnitedHealth Group, according to the Boston Business Journal . Michael Weintraub, president and CEO of Humedica, confirmed to InformationWeek Healthcare that his company is now part of Optum Health, United's research and new-ventures unit, but an Optum spokesman did not respond to e-mails or phone calls.
