Rural Community Insurance Signs with Torrent

The Rural Community Insurance Company (RCIC), an Anoka, Minn.-based subsidiary of Rural Community Insurance Services and Wells Fargo, has selected Torrent Technologies (Seattle) to provide technology solutions and back office services in support of the insurer's recent entry into the National Flood Insurance Program's (NFIP) "Write Your Own" (WYO) program.

RCIC will use Torrent's flagship TorrentFlood solution for flood insurance processing. The TorrentFlood product has been designed to accurately identify risk, provide insurance options for both primary NFIP and excess flood coverage and produce corresponding documentation.

According to a press release, TorrentFlood will integrate RCIC's underlying flood platform with Wells Fargo's Special Risks excess program to provide automated excess flood insurance quotes whenever the replacement cost of the property to be insured exceeds the standard underlying policy limits available through NFIP.
