SAP, Samsung Parter on Mobile, Wearable Technology

The partnership will include a foray into payments as well as mobile banking solutions.

SAP and Samsung announced this week that the two companies will partner to create enterprise solutions for mobile devices and wearables in a number of industries, including financial services. The announcement was made during the SAP TechEd conference happening this week in Berlin.

According to the companies, the collaboration is designed to allow for developers to build solutions that can leverage the popularity of Samsung mobile devices and the SAP mobile platform, as well as to leverage joint cloud solutions based on the SAP HANA cloud platform. Additionally, there are plans to eventually integrate payments into this new ecosystem.

The future of wearables
It'll be interesting to see what kinds of products come from this partnership. I wonder whether any of their efforts to improve customer experience will influence insurers' work in the wearables space.
