Security Benefit Partners With CoSentry Business Resiliency Networks

Security Benefit (Topeka, Kan.), a provider of individual and group retirement and asset management solutions, will implement solutions from CoSentry Business Resiliency Networks, (Omaha, Neb.), provider of business continuity and managed technical services, for its business continuity program.

Through the partnership, Security Benefit is looking to increase its level of business continuity protection while also lowering costs. According to Security Benefit vice president of IT Kevin Cohen, the insurer's tests indicate that it can have business back up and running in three hours following a systems outage or natural disaster. Previous to the CoSentry deal, Cohen states in a press release, its BCP solutions called for up to 48 hours of downtime.

Cohen identified geographic separation as key to the company's decision to select CoSentry. "We were excited about what CoSentry offered because their technology systems were located in multiple facilities that were far enough apart to diminish any risks posed by local disruptions yet close enough for easy access by our staff," Cohen says in the press release.
