The Republic Group Appoints New Chief Underwriting Officer

Former QBE Regional Insurance SVP Thomas M. Greenfield takes over the post.

Dallas-based P&C insurer The Republic Group has named Thomas Greenfield SVP and chief underwriting officer.

Greenfield's last position was SVP of field operations for QBE Regional Insurance. Before that he had worked at Republic's subdivided, independent operations at Blue Ridge Insurance Company.

"Our companies' Chief Underwriting Officer role has been enhanced to include all of our regional independent agency underwriting and reinsurance operations," says Republic CEO Joe Mattingly in a statement. "Tom's unique regional company experience, education and successful performance in this segment of the industry make him an excellent choice to assume this enhanced CUO role to achieve Republic's underwriting profitability goals as it continues to expand upon the accomplishments it has realized over the last several years."
