Western Agricultural Insurance Launches Direct Auto Insurance Web Site

Acting on a consumer survey, the carrier created its new ProtectantDirect.com distribution channel, which includes information on "green" driving and offers discounts for hybrid vehicles.

Western Agricultural Insurance (West De Moines, Iowa) has launched ProtectantDirect.com, a direct online auto insurance distribution channel designed to meet consumer demand for a simple, convenient solution to researching and purchasing insurance, according to a carrier source.

ProtectantDirect.com was built based on feedback gathered from an online survey of consumers conducted by Western Agricultural Insurance, according to a company press release. "We sought feedback from consumers and created Protectant Direct around their ideas," says Bruce Trost, the carrier's executive vice president. "ProtectantDirect.com makes the process easier than ever before by offering quick car insurance quotes in just five easy steps, and making it simple to apply for coverage online. Our intent was to design ProtectantDirect.com to be the easiest way for consumers to purchase auto insurance."

In response to the survey results, Western Agricultural Insurance is also offering an auto insurance premium discount to hybrid car owners and has created a "Green List" providing information on more environmentally friendly ways to drive at the ProtectantDirect.com site. The carrier offers a range of other discounts at the site and and can tailor coverage with valuable options such as Emergency Roadside Assistance, Rental Reimbursement and Replacement Cost coverage, according to the Western Agricultural Insurance Source.
