Western Computer Services Implements Innovation Group's Insurer Analytics

Western Computer Services Inc. (WCSI; Sandy, Utah) has successfully implemented Innovation Group's (Farmington, Conn.) Insurer Analytics in what a vendor statement characterizes as the first of several parallel efforts to implement its Innovation Insurer components, including Insurer Policy and Insurer Claims, for WCSI's customer, Mountain West Farm Bureau (Laramie, Wyo.) as part of a business transformation initiative.

The initial implementation aligned Insurer Analytics' out-of-the-box reporting functionality with data from Mountain West's legacy claims application, according to the Innovation Group statement. Future phases include expanding the reporting, as well as using Insurer Analytics Policy reports to complement Mountain West's Insurer Policy and Insurer Claims implementations.

In preparation for the implementation, WCSI and Innovation Group mapped data from legacy systems, developed dashboards, MI and BI reporting. The insurance-specific out-of-the-box capabilities, reporting and KPI's allowed WCSI to quickly complete large portions of the data mapping, ETL, and report definition, Innovation Group claims.

While WCSI's strategy is to sunset current legacy reports rather than complete a straight conversion, the company is leveraging the advanced functionality of Insurer Analytics to provide reports that are more valuable and relevant to the business, according to the vendor. Owing to the insurance-specific capabilities of the system implemented, Mountain West can now develop reports in a day or less, as opposed to taking 30 days prior to the implementation, according to Innovation Group.
