XL Group Appoints AIG Exec as Chief Underwriting Officer
XL Group’s Insurance Operations has named Michael LaRocca the chief underwriting officer for its North America Property business. He will report to Michele Sansone, president of the division.
LaRocca joins XL Group from AIG, where he most recently served as VP and northeast zonal leader for large property accounts. He has also worked for Zurich and Gerling America Insurance Company, where he developed the in-house risk engineering department and held various positions in underwriting management.
“Mike’s 25 years of experience providing insurance and risk engineering services to complex property risks aligns very well with our growing book of large commercial property risks,” said Sansone in a statement. “In his new role, Mike will help our proper underwriting teams in the US, Canada and Bermuda maintain consistent underwriting practice and standards that will help us grow wisely and provide our clients with the property coverage, risk engineering and claims services they need to keep their employees safe and their properties well protected."
