Zurich Japan Deploys Guidewire ClaimCenter

Under the internal name of Z-Trust, ClaimCenter currently processes Zurich Japan's auto and motorcycle claims and will be extended to other lines of business in subsequent deployment phases.

Zurich Japan, a division of Zurich Financial Services (Zurich), has successfully implemented San Mateo, Calif.-based Guidewire's ClaimCenter, under the internal moniker of Z-Trust, according to a Guidewire press release. Z-Trust currently processes auto and motorcycle claims and will be extended to other lines of business in subsequent deployment phases.

Zurich Japan selected ClaimCenter in April 2009 and engaged Ernst & Young LLP (New York) to assist with implementation, according to the Guidewire source. Ernst & Young assembled a team of local and offshore professionals to execute the implementation in close cooperation with Zurich Japan and Guidewire.

"Guidewire's technology is enabling us to provide our customers with the high quality service and care that is at the heart of our corporate philosophy," comments Amanda Curley, CIO, Zurich Japan. "Our claims handlers have a state-of-the-art system to work with and we are better equipped to respond to rapidly changing industry regulations and business needs."

Among the benefits of ClaimCenter to Zurich Japan are the ability to: provide more reassurance to its customers throughout the claims handling process including the ability for customers to self-check claim status online; realize faster claims settlement timeframes for better customer service; respond to customer inquiries in a timely fashion with electronic claim files and centrally managed claim data; and become an environmentally-friendly, paperless claims organization, according to the Guidewire source.
