AllMed Launches MedCert to Aid Physician Reviews

The MedCert extension to PeerPoint helps insurers cut costs by outsourcing reviews, AllMed says.

AllMed Healthcare Management has added MedCert to its PeerPoint platform. The new system was developed to help healthcare payer organizations outsource first-level physician reviews.

Physician reviewers and medical directors, employed by AllMed, review and make first-level approvals and denials — including short determination statement and rationales — based on case requests and medical review questions routed through PeerPoint.

“Healthcare organizations are increasingly looking to outsource their medical reviews to either free up their medical directors for higher valued-added work, or to move physician reviews from fixed to variable costs,” said Andrew Rowe, CEO of Portland, Ore.-based AllMed, in a statement. “The MedCert solution plays perfectly into this trend.”
