DataHub is an operational data storage program that unifies and stores data from an insurer’s system and external sources. It facilitates business continuity during core system transformation and simplifies the addition of future applications. InfoCenter is a business intelligence storage center designed to help P&C insurers easily access information for business intelligence, decision-making and analysis purposes.

The two systems will become part of American Modern’s personal lines business. They were chosen as part of a business-wide initiative to make data easier to access and interpret for agents and internal operations. In addition to improving self-service options, InfoCenter and DataHub will allow American Modern to obtain more operational insight from core systems and better convert data into those systems. Guidewire PartnerConnect member Ernst & Young (EY) has been chosen to work with American Modern on the implementation.

“Our ability to readily harness insights from [our] information in order to be more responsive to our customers and business partners is a critical component in the achievement of our goals and strategies,” said Laura Harris, VP of business intelligence and analytics at American Modern. “The implementation of DataHub and InfoCenter will significantly extend the predictive analytic capabilities of our organization, in particular in the areas of customer retention, lifetime value, and new business conversion.”
