DRC Adds Claims Component to DecisionMaker Suite

The company highlights the new claims system's out-of-the-box mobile capability.

Philadelphia-based Decision Research Corporation (DRC) has released a claims component for its DecisionMaker Suite.

Implementable as a stand-alone module or as an interface with any policy administration system, the company says its new claims system provides a framework for base functionality like first notice of loss, reserves, and payments for personal, commercial, and specialty lines.

Built on Microsoft's .NET framework, the system includes access management, automated check writing, and dashboarding features for real time access to day-to-day management of claims status and payments. It also provides mobile access for iPhone and Android devices through DecisionMaker Mobile. Policyholders can view policy information, file a claim, and use location-based services to identify nearby body shops, rental agencies, or taxi services, according to DRC.

"The release of DRC's new Claims Solution offers our clients the ability to take advantage of a streamlined approach to fast and intuitive claims processing." said Karen Yamamoto, President of DRC, says in a statement. "The ability to access claims data directly by the various handlers is just one of the improved workflow features that will go a long way in claims processing efficiency."

A claims adjusters' portal includes automated pre-fill of data and pend and release functions, allowing adjusters to escalate a claim without stoppage or handoff, the company says.
